Burr Pond State Park is located in western Connecticut. In 1851, Milo Burr, the area's namesake, placed a dam across the confluence of several mountain streams, impounding water for power and spurring the area's development.

Off Route 8 North: Exit 46. At the end of the ramp, take a left onto Pinewoods Road. At the first stop sign, go left onto Winsted Road. Follow Winsted Road for approximately 1 mile, and take a right at the blinking yellow light (the turn is marked with a park sign). The park is 1 mile down, on the left.
