Camping at Macedonia Brook State Park: Continued seasonal staff shortages may impact camping stays at this park. Services will be impacted during the 2026 season.
Campers should be aware of the following prior to making a reservation:
  • Firewood sales may not be available
  • Upon arrival, campers should check in at the camp office - when staff are unavailable a self check-in process will be available
  • Campers should be aware that there is no cell phone service available in the campground, but an emergency phone is located at the camp office
  • No items may be hung from or tied to trees or structures, including hammocks
  • Mowing and other maintenance services will be reduced
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned less frequently; campers are encouraged to clean up after themselves
  • Alcohol and pets are prohibited within the campground.

Macedonia Brook State Park does not allow walk-ins at any time. Reservations are required at all times.

Geography:

Macedonia Brook State Park consists of 2,300 acres and is located in Kent, CT. The park became the property of the State in 1918 through a gift from the White Memorial Foundation in Litchfield, CT. Many years later, the National Park Service established a Conservation Corps Camp at the park, and much site improvement work was accomplished.

Recreation:

Activities include stream fishing, camping, hiking, picnicking, sports field, cross-country skiing, and visiting the park's historic area.

Facilities:

Macedonia Brook State Park offers 51 wooded, meadow or brook-side campsites in a rustic setting. Additional park facilities include picnic shelters, drinking water, gravel parking, and outhouses.
