Camping at Macedonia Brook State Park: Continued seasonal staff shortages may impact camping stays at this park. Services will be impacted during the 2026 season.
Campers should be aware of the following prior to making a reservation:

Firewood sales may not be available
Upon arrival, campers should check in at the camp office - when staff are unavailable a self check-in process will be available
Campers should be aware that there is no cell phone service available in the campground, but an emergency phone is located at the camp office
No items may be hung from or tied to trees or structures, including hammocks
Mowing and other maintenance services will be reduced
Bathrooms will be cleaned less frequently; campers are encouraged to clean up after themselves
Alcohol and pets are prohibited within the campground.

Macedonia Brook State Park does not allow walk-ins at any time. Reservations are required at all times.

Description

Macedonia Brook State Park's exciting terrain has resulted from the slow wearing down of its hard rock formation base. The Blue Trail crosses Cobble Mountain and several other peaks, offering outstanding views of New York State's Catskills and Taconic Mountains. Numerous springs and streams in the park allow hikers to rinse off and fishermen and swimmers to enjoy their time in the park, too.

CAMPING INFORMATION

PETS AND ALCOHOL ARE PROHIBITED AT THIS CAMPGROUND. Cell phone service is not available within the campground.

Camping reservations are accepted 11 months in advance. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to arrival and a two-night minimum is required for all reservations at Macedonia Brook State Park. Reservations are required; no walk-ins are allowed.

The maximum length of stay at this campground is 14 (fourteen) consecutive days. Following a reservation/stay of any length, all members of your camping party and your camping equipment must leave the park for 5 days before you can return.

Camping Reservation Freeze Policy:Any reservation with a departure date that is more than 11 months from today cannot be changed or cancelled for 18 days after the reservation was made for an inland campground and 25 days for sites at Hammonasset and Rocky Neck.

Check in time for campsites is from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Campers arriving after 10:00 p.m. will be required to set up in a temporary stopover area until the following morning.

Notes

CT Cancellation Policy

There is a $9.00 fee to cancel your reservation.

If you cancel 2-7 days prior to your arrival date, you will also be charged one night's use fee.

Note: Neither the park nor the call center can cancel a reservation within 2 days of arrival.

Dissatisfaction due to reasons of weather, site conditions or other natural phenomena will not be considered sufficient cause for granting a refund.
Note: If you feel you have an exception to the cancellation policy, please submit your request in writing to the state park or forest campground where the campsite was rented. Your request should include details about why you feel an exception should be granted. The campground will verify registration and forward the request to the Department for review and consideration.

Pavilion Reservations:

If cancelling 0-6 days prior to arrival, there is no refund.

If cancelling 7-29 days prior to arrival, there is a $9.00 cancel fee, a $25.00 service fee and the non-refundable reservation fee of $9.00

If cancelling 30+ days prior to arrival, there is a $9.00 cancel fee and the non-refundable reservation fee of $9.00.

Note: Refunds will be sent by the state of Connecticut in check form within 6-8 weeks.

Macedonia Brook State Park offers a rustic camping environment. Some campsites have exposed rock on them. Most tent campsites require parking along the road and walking into the campsite.

Description

Geography:

Macedonia Brook State Park consists of 2,300 acres and is located in Kent, CT. The park became the property of the State in 1918 through a gift from the White Memorial Foundation in Litchfield, CT. Many years later, the National Park Service established a Conservation Corps Camp at the park, and much site improvement work was accomplished.

Recreation:

Activities include stream fishing, camping, hiking, picnicking, sports field, cross-country skiing, and visiting the park's historic area.

Macedonia Brook State Park offers 51 wooded, meadow or brook-side campsites in a rustic setting. Additional park facilities include picnic shelters, drinking water, gravel parking, and outhouses.

Follow Route 341 west from the intersection of Route 341 and Route 7 in the center of Kent. Turn right onto Macedonia Brook Road. Stay left at the intersection of Macedonia Brook and Fuller Mountain Roads. Look for park signs.
