Getting There:
From the West/New York area: Take I-684 onto I-84 east toward Danbury. Take exit 4 and go left at the traffic light onto Route 39 north, following the signs to Squantz Pond. The parks is located off Route 39 approximately 4 s1/2 miles north of the center of New Fairfield. From East on I-84: Take exit 6 in Danbury. Take a right at the traffic light onto Route 37. Follow the signs on Route 37 until you arrive in New Fairfield Center. Take a right at the traffic light onto Route 39 traveling north for approximately 4 1/2 miles to the park entrance. From the lower Fairfield County area: Go north on Route 7 onto I-84 east to Danbury. Take exit 5 and go left at the traffic light onto Route 39 north, following the signs to Squantz Pond. The park is located off Route 39 approximately 4 1/2 miles north of the center of New Fairfield. From Bridgeport area: Go norht onto Route 25 onto I-84 west. Attention: Car Passes are reservable online for weekends and holidays only from 5/18/24 – 9/1/24. A maximum of 250 car passes are available each day. Car passes may be reserved 14 days in advance up until 3:00 pm on the day of the visit. A $2.00 transaction fee applies to all reservations. Once all passes have been sold, no additional vehicles OR visitors will be allowed to enter the facility. This includes visitors walking in or being dropped off. No refunds, cancellations, changes or transfers are allowed for any car pass purchases. Please be sure to print or save/screenshot your tickets after your purchase. You will need your ticket to enter the Park. Description: Squantz Pond State Park is handicapped accessible, and offers a designated swimming area, restrooms, picnic tables and grills. The park is open from 8am to sunset daily. The possession and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in this park. No pets/dogs are allowed at this park from April 15 – September 30th. Connecticut Residents with Connecticut-registered vehicles pay no entrance fees at this park, since a small fee on their vehicle registration pays into the Passport to the Parks program. Visitors arriving in an out-of-state registered vehicle must pay the day pass fee, which is $22 for weekends and holidays, and $15 for weekdays. A $2 fee applies to all transactions. Important Information: 2024 Squantz Pond Car PassesWeekends and Holidays Weekends and holiday car passes are reservable online from 5/18/24 – 9/2/24. A maximum of 250 car passes are available each day. Car passes may be reserved 14 days in advance and up to 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Car passes are valid any time from 8:00 a.m. until sunset on the day of the visit. A maximum of two car passes can be reserved in each transaction and the vehicle license plate for each pass must be provided. A $2.00 transaction fee applies to all reservations. Upon arrival on the date of your visit, you will need to present your ticket to be scanned by park staff. Please have it available either printed or on your mobile device at the park entrance ticket booth. Weekday/Non-Holidays Weekday (non-holiday) car passes are available on site at the park’s ticket booth. A maximum of 250 car passes are available each day. Payment is accepted by cash or credit card (Visa/Mastercard only). A $2.00 transaction fee applies to the standard out-of-state vehicle parking fee ($15.00). More information is available at Bus Permits and Fees (ct.gov). Rules and Regulations Visitors must follow all rules and regulations of this park. All visitors must remain in the designated swim areas only; no swimming is allowed in prohibited areas. Pets, dogs, amplified music, bounce houses, pools, and other play equipment are not allowed. The possession and consumption of alcohol is prohibited at this park, and the use of cannabis (marijuana) is also prohibited at all Connecticut State Parks and Forests.
