Osbornedale Picnic Shelter, CT

During the 'walk-in' season, prior to Memorial Day Weekend and after Labor Day Weekend, this enclosed picnic shelter (Pavilion #1) may be reserved through the park office by calling 203-735-4311. If this picnic shelter is not occupied or reserved through the park office on a particular date, it will be unavailable to walk-ins as it is generally locked when not reserved.. There are two other open picnic shelters at Osbornedale that also may be reserved only through the park office, or available to walk-ins if not occupied or reserved - Pavilion #2 and Pavilion #3. Please contact the park to reserve a picnic shelter during the walk-in season before heading to the park.

Heavy weekend use at each park may lead to gate closures if the park fills to capacity. In the event of this happening, no more cars are allowed to enter. Guests should plan to arrive as early as possible to avoid being turned away. (Picnic shelter rental does not guarantee entry to the park.)

Amplified music and sound (including all amps, amplified systems and PA systems) are NOT ALLOWED. Bounce houses and other play equipment are NOT ALLOWED. CT Cancellation Policy

There is a $9.00 fee to cancel your reservation.

If you cancel 2-7 days prior to your arrival date, you will also be charged one night's use fee.

Note: Neither the park nor the call center can cancel a reservation within 2 days of arrival.

Dissatisfaction due to reasons of weather, site conditions or other natural phenomena will not be considered sufficient cause for granting a refund.
Note: If you feel you have an exception to the cancellation policy, please submit your request in writing to the state park or forest campground where the campsite was rented. Your request should include details about why you feel an exception should be granted. The campground will verify registration and forward the request to the Department for review and consideration.
